Kareoke Night

HEY ALL YOU MASA LOVERS!

Sorry for being MIA on the Xanga this month.   I had a really REALLY bad fever for two weeks so I couldn't make it out of my room much.  But that's all in the past.  As of now I have 2 awesome events to update you guys on!

First of all MASA's 3rd GBM and Charity Auction!   A bit Thankyou to all the awesome GBMers and Alumni who came to support and buy the services of MASA's staff members ;)   I must some of us had some interesting services to offer...I know I'm looking forward to surfing (or falling off the surfboard) with Chase and Kathleen!  I'm sure other MASA members are looking forward to their auction purchases as well.  Props to Vinson for bidding $89 on a Vivbot messenger bag!  You're awesome dude.  Altogether the Charity auction earned a gran total of $942 and will be sending it to the Monarch School.  Let's do it again next year!

As for our Sidekick Event...wow, what a night.   I'm still hoarse from singing 3 hours straight.  THANKYOU to our amazing Membership Chairs Tu and Monica for putting on such and awesome event.  And thankyou to Muzen for hosting us, I particularly liked the disco lights in our kareoke rooms.  For the 30-ish Bigs and Littles that came, I'm sure you enjoyed it as much as I did.  We had people dancing (Phillip and Terry), people with phenomenal voices (Mary), people who kept sitting on broken chairs (me), and people created our own personal light show LOL (aka Carol turning the lights on and off; girl you crack me up).  It was an altogether AMAZING night.  One of my favorite parts was all of us sing "We are the Champions" together and the boys singing The Backstreet Boys to the girls... so cute!   We rounded off the night going to Tea 'N More and leaving when they closed at 1am.   Props to everyone who stayed alive at 10 fingers!  Haha.

Last Entry for Fall 08

Hey MASA Lovelies!!!!!!!!!!!

On behalf of MASA, I want to thank all of you who have come out to events this quarter.  All of you who helped out as GBMers.   MASA Veterans who came out.   MASA loves YOU!!!!!   Haha that kinda sounds like that "I want you!" poster, but that's neither here nor there.

MASA just had it's last event of the Quarter, and it was delicious.  As you can guess it was Ramen Run!!!  But this time it was MASA-made!!!  Props to all Ramen Run Staff!  It was wonderful, despite all the last minute complications, aka no stove D= ....  Round of Applause to Ramen Run !!!

There was also our first Sidekick Event and our traditional Study Night!   Bigs and Littles bounded over a slippery and precarious surface.   We glided across the horizon elegantly, and sometimes not so elegantly....  That's right, we went ICESKATING in UTC!!!!  <3<3<3  Not too many people could make since it was a Monday night, but the ones who went had an awesome, spectaCULAR time.   That was my second time iceskating in college and both times have been with MASA  <3  Only a few people fell, and only a few people fell ALOT  >:), that would Narady.    But they were troopers because they kept at it!!!  Afterwards we all went to eat in the food court.  It was a wonderful event, thanks to our very own membership Monica and Tu.

And study night was good 'ol study night; lots of people got studying done...well, don't hold me to that statement.   I, as Historian, certainly got lots of pictures with people around books..and laptops...and food.   My personal favorite was a picture of Monica holding her book open for the viewer and pointing at a picture.  Ahahaha  THat's what Study Night is about!!!  Lol, I'm sure some people studied-ish.

I would like to bid all Lovely MASA members a fond farewell, until Winter Quarter.  'Cuz you know what's coming up,  KUNfusion!  Iron-shef!   Until then,  I wish you all the best of luck on Finals!  Merry Christmas! (Maybe)  Happy Hanukah!  And always,  One Heart Beat <3

MASA 3rd GBM and Sidekick Revealing!

HEY MASA LOVELIES!!!!

So I know it's been a long time since my last entry.  Many pardons!!!  I've been super busy with midterms and Mystery Bus, which was great success by the way =D  It was Halloween themed, and we did ##### and then we went to******, where we had a great time @@@@@, and finally we rounded off the night with some yummy  $$$$ and %%%!!!   Sorry peeps, Mystery Bus is supposed to be a mystery.  Haha  Thank you to all the Mystery Bus people who came!

So anyways, the latest MASA excitement was at GBM!  We played a very amusing icebreaker called "BANG," it involved (fake) shooting the people next to you.  It was Justin's idea.  BIG SURPRISE -_-  Just Kidding Justin, it was alot of fun!  Staff also had good time making GBMers into Event Chirades.  My particular favorite was the guy who was a turkey!  I must say, he made one seductive turkey ^_^  But the absolute finale of the night was SIDEKICK REVEALING.   We had  50 some littles this year, an unprecedented number!  Makes me proud how enthusiastic GBMers are this year  :)  But Sidekick activities were so much fun!  We had to draw each other portraits without looking at the paper! haha  One of my Littles made me President Lincoln!  =D  It was awesome.
Anyway I will leave MASA with one last note.  KUNfusion's first practice is tonight at RIMAC 9:30pm to 11:30pm at Activity Room 3.  We ACTUALLY have a room this year!  As opposed to dancing behind CLICS on a rainy night... aww the good old days.   Come join us!!!!

One heart beat,

1st GBM for 2008-2009

Hello MASA dears!!!!

So I hope you all enjoyed the GBM tonight!  At least it was a blast for MASA staff!  I thought that the random 300 hundred video was particularly hilarious, EVEN WITH the ridiculous amount of technical difficulties...aka lagging...frickin' technology  =[  For everyone who came out tonight, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we/I did.  And I hope to see all your beautiful faces at our upcoming events!!!

For those who missed it, *tear tear*  (--Lawrence, Thahn)  You were with us in spirit!

Anyhow, here's a little overview for the night.  The night began with the MASA slide show, then the MASA Star Wars and 300 video.  We then showed the trailer for FUSION 08', which was AMAZING.... I was practically retrojected back in time to FUSION week.  Yea KUNfusion!  Woot!  Following Fusion was a trailer for Dororo.  Which also looked really cool except for the fact that the only people who understood it were the Japanese MASA members.  There were no subtitles 0_0  But it still looked awesome.  For those interested, The SDAFF event will be this coming Sunday, by the way: to watch  Dororo with MASA!

After the Videos,  staff performed two different skits to introduce other upcoming events.  Highlights included Kathy's extremly realistic Blowfish on the Road (for this coming Friday 2pm) and Tu throwing grass from her Pot of luck (her pot was actually a plate,  haha get it?  --> Pot + Luck, which is on Friday Oct 24th)  We ended the GBM with a Performance for KUNfusion.  Muchas Gracias to Toby for choreographing the dance!!!

Traditionally, the night concluded with a boba run @_@  TAPIOCA EXPRESS <3!<3!<3!  It was delicious.  I believe I speak for everyone in that respect.  I personally enjoyed making people take sleezy Model pictures...  They will show up in the MASA scrapbook.  Muahaha >:)  Thus concludes your faithful Historian.

One heart beat,
Connie

Special thanks to all MASA Alumni and MASA Veterans who came out tonight.  You always make a big difference in keeping MASA connected to it's great history!!!  (LOL I would say that as Historian.)

Pho Nite!

Dear Veteran MASA members and New members,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING OUT TONIGHT!!!  The Pho was delicious (in spirit, it was ok in reality), the people; awesome, and MASA turnout; amazing!  A BIG thank you, especially to the graduated MASA members who came out to MASA's 1st event of the year.  We miss you guys (and your cars) =D.   And to freshman who came out tonight,  you guys are awesome for being brave enough to come out of your comfort zone and check out MASA.  It wouldn't have been the same with out you!
SO, some highlights for the evening...I particularly enjoyed our game of "Bi*ch Please" (Props to the creators: DCho, Calvin, Tu).  I also love how we dominated the entire restaurant tonight.  If you calculated 90% of the restaurant capacity, you would know how many MASA people came out tonight.  MASA can probably go there 2 more times before they ban us from the premise.  But that just shows how much MASA is growing!!! <3 Woot to MASA for a great beginning of the year!

If you didn't come out tongiht, tsk tsk...shame shame... XO
But it's all good because MASA has a bunch of awesome events coming up!

Hint hint:  This Saturday 10/4, Miramar Air Show see facebook events for details.

On that note I, your faithful MASA Historian, shall say Bai Bai.
